Ekam Capital has appointed AMAL Trustees as independent trustee of the Ekam Real Estate Credit Fund, strengthening the fund's governance framework as part of the firm's ongoing programme to institutionalise its operations.

AMAL Trustees is a leading Australian provider of wholesale corporate trustee and fund services, and now forms part of IQ-EQ, a global investor services group operating across 27 jurisdictions with approximately 6,000 professionals and over US$750 billion in assets under administration. The appointment provides an independent layer of fiduciary oversight that sits separate from the investment manager, reinforcing accountability and the separation of duties that institutional capital expects.

"As we continue to scale and deepen our investor base, having a world-class independent trustee, one backed by a global institutional platform of the calibre of IQ-EQ, provides our investors with the highest standard of fiduciary oversight and governance assurance," said Robert Baharian, Partner and Chief Executive Officer of Ekam Capital. "This is exactly the kind of infrastructure that underpins a credible, institutional-grade investment manager."
